Welcome to the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention(Texas EHDI) website! This website offers detailed information and resources to support the role of Texas EHDI Providers, families, and the greater community as we work together to improve outcomes for families of our youngest children suspected or diagnosed with hearing loss in Texas. This website offers information and resources organized by provider role and also offers information and resources for families and anyone from the greater community interested in supporting families of infants and toddlers suspected or diagnosed with hearing loss in Texas. This website has been made possible by state agencies and community partners committed to supporting families navigating the Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention process. We invite you to explore our website and take advantage of the resources contained within this site. We also encourage you to share local resources available in your area so that together we strengthen the commitment to promote an effective Texas EHDI system for families. We are Texas Early Hearing Detection and Intervention – A System of Care. A Community of Support.

We are thrilled to share the establishment of the HoPE (Honoring Parental Empowerment) Support Network for Texas EHDI, a parent-community-professional partnership that works to empower families and educate professionals to work in a collaborative, culturally sensitive, respectful partnership to promote informed choice for families navigating the EHDI process.
HoPE Support Network services include:
– Trained parents (HoPE Partners) provide technical assistance/support to families of children with any degree of HL as they navigate the (EHDI) system of care. This support is designed to address loss to follow-up by facilitating families’ ability to increase their understanding of information received in order to make informed choices for their child and family.
– Provide training and technical assistance to EHDI professionals through an informed choice framework that is respectful, objective, and comprehensive.
– Unite trained, successful members of the Deaf/HOH community (HoPE Mentors) with families of deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers and EHDI professionals to demonstrate a hopeful future and provide perspective.
– Provide leadership and guidance in systemic improvement of the EHDI system at both state and local levels.
